1. Ayush means ‘Age’. Ayush Havan is conducted to live a healthy and long life. Lord Ayurdevata, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is invoked in this Havan. He is the father of Ayurveda and a physician of Devatas.
2. Gauri Ganesha Puja, Navgraha Puja, Ayush Shatkam Mantras, and Havan are the procedures for this powerful Havan.
3. The date is selected according to Janam Nakshatras and astrological charts. Vijaya Dashmi and Birth dates are considered auspicious dates. Brahma Muhurat is a suitable time, and it can be performed at any age.
4. If a child is sick, the Havan should be performed regularly until the child's recovery, as per Budhyana Sutras.
5. Markandeya, Chiranjivi, Aswatthama, Mahabali, Vyasa, Hanuman, Vibhishana, Kripacharya, Parashurama, and others are invoked during the homam.
