1. Durga Puja, which starts from the sixth day of Navratri is celebrated as the victory over demon Mahisasur. Durga Puja/ Durgotsava is celebrated in the month of Ashvin as per the Hindu Calendar and in the month of Sept-Oct as per the Gregorian calendar. It is a ten days festival.
2. Goddess Durga is worshipped in nine forms for nine days with each day dedicated to worship one form.
