Namkaran Puja
1. Namkaran Samskara is the fifth of the sixteen Hindu samskaras. It is a highly auspicious naming ceremony celebrated with great enthusiasm among family members, and its rituals vary significantly by region and tradition.
2. According to the Grihya Sutras and the baby's Nakshatra, a qualified priest—well-versed in Hindu Shastras—suggests the first letter of the baby’s name. The family then selects a name based on that letter. The chosen name is believed to have a lifelong influence on the child.
3. This ceremony is commonly performed on the 11th day after birth, after three months, or on the child's first birthday, depending on family preference and customs.
1. Ensures a successful life for the child by nullifying any negativities carried from past lives.
