
Vivah(Marriage) Puja
1. Vivaha is a Sanskrit word which refers to the traditional Indian wedding system, where rituals and processes vary widely by region and community.
2. A priest is invited to choose an auspicious Muhurat based on the couple’s horoscope and astrological charts.
3. Gods, Goddesses, and ancestors are invoked to bless the couple, with the sacred fire as a witness to bind them together for life.
4. There are some universal rituals such as Kanyadaan, Panigrahara and Saptapadi. Kanyadaan is the giving away of the daughter, Panigrahara is the union in the presence of sacred fire and Saptapadi is the seven steps in which each step is a pair of vows involving both bride and groom.
